THE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN GRUPA AZOTY ZAK S.A.


Customers, both domestic and international, are becoming ever more demanding. They are no longer satisfied simply with having a good product. Customers expect guarantees covering the entire cycle of product manufacture and also  for a company to implement modern business management methods.

By meeting these expectations, GRUPA AZOTY ZAK S.A. was (in 1997) awarded  the Quality Management System Certificate for its compliance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 9002:1996 standard.
In 2003, it began preparing and implementing an integrated management system encompassing quality (according to PN-EN ISO 9001: 2001) and safety (according to PN-N-18001:1999).  In July 2003 ZAK S.A. was awarded a certificate for its integrated management system in compliance with the above standards. In 2004 it began taking steps to expand the scope of the certificate:  it implemented within the company the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 14001 standard for environmental protection.

Thanks to the work and commitment of both its top-level management and staff as a whole, on 27 January 2005, ZAK S.A. was awarded the CERTIFICATE OF THE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM in Quality * HSE * Environment, for its compliance with the requirements of the following standards: PN-EN ISO 9001: 2001, PN-N-18001: 2004 and PN-EN ISO 14001: 1998.
In 2004, the ZAK S.A. Laboratory Services Unit started preparing and implementing a system compliant with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. In October 2005, it passed the accreditation process and was awarded the Accreditation Certificate of Testing Laboratory, valid until 19 March 2014.

Following another audit to re-certify the integrated management system, conducted in February 2011, DEKRA Certification sp. z o.o. awarded ZAK S.A. the following certificates: ISO 9001: 2008, PN-N-18001: 2004, ohsas 18001: 2007, ISO 14001: 2004, all valid until 14 February 2014.

GRUPA AZOTY ZAK S.A. has based its Integrated Management System on the principles of prioritising customer support, continuous improvement and process approach. The following processes were identified: management, major and auxiliary processes,  and their sequence and mutual relationships were defined (documented in the ZAK S.A. process map).
