Grupa Azoty ZAK invests in zero-emission transport

Two fast-charging stations have been installed on the premises of Grupa Azoty ZAK to enable the operation of low- and zero-emission vehicles. The company’s fleet currently includes four electric-powered vehicles for business use by employees. A grant from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management was obtained for their operation.

Each station has three parking spaces and allows charging in a quick and less costly way compared to public charging stations. Also, the day-to-day costs of electric vehicle travel are significantly – more than three times – lower than compared to combustion cars. Grupa Azoty ZAK plans to further expand its fleet of electric cars.

We are interested in any technologies that lead to carbon footprint reduction. This applies to production and investment processes as well as to segments that support the core business, such as logistics. Each subsequent vehicle purchased by the company will be a low-emission car,” stressed Filip Grzegorczyk, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty ZAK and Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

The use of environmentally friendly means of transport in logistics is consistent with the European Green Deal and the Grupa Azoty Group Strategy, based on the principles of sustainability. To operate the electric vehicles, Grupa Azoty ZAK received a grant of PLN 151,000 from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management under the “Support for E-mobility” programme.
