The value of the investment, completed using the company’s own assets, is PLN 3.5 million. The plant has a capacity of 1 MW and has been built on a total area of 1 hectare.

It is estimated that the system will generate an additional power output of around 970 MWh per year at Grupa Azoty ZAK. It will also contribute to an estimated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of about 793 tonnes annually, as well as a reduction in emissions of particulate matter and other compounds released by burning coal, including nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide.

“In line with the Grupa Azoty Group’s new strategy until 2030, we are steadfastly working towards becoming a zero-carbon energy producer. We want to make our RES investments relying mainly on our own assets, as evidenced by the PV system we have built. Diversifying energy sources and increasing the share of green energy is a step toward reducing the carbon footprint of our products,” says Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
